Alton Brown, California’s sensational food show presenter is bringing his brand new show to the Warner Theater!
Alton Crawford Brown was born in Los Angeles in 1962 and is a television personality, food show presenter, author, actor, and cinematographer. He studied film and drama at University of Georgia and began his career as a cinematographer in the late 1980s. He wasn’t impressed by the quality of cooking shows on American TV and decided to produce his own show. To prepare, he enrolled in the New England Culinary Institute (in Montpelier, Vermont) and went on to create the TV show Good Eats. The show premiered in 1998 and was eventually picked up by the Food Network. In it, Alton explains the science and technique behind the cooking, the history of different foods, and the advantages of different kinds of cooking equipment. It aired for 14 seasons and Alton went on to have a stellar career with other shows such as Feasting on Asphalt and Feasting on Waves. He’s received many accolades including a Peabody Award (as part of the Good Eats cast), a James Beard Foundation Award for Best TV Food Personality. He was named Cooking Teacher of the Year by Bon Appétit magazine and Best Food Guru by Atlanta magazine, and Educator of the Year by Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Cooking for Solutions.
