Tye Tribbett, New Jersey’s sensational gospel music artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Warner Theater!
Tyrone “Tye” Tribbett was born in Camden (New Jersey) in 1976 and is a gospel music singer, songwriter, keyboardist and choir director. In the late 90s he founded the gospel group Tye Tribbett and Greater Anointing (aka Tye Tribbett and G.A.) and they got an opportunity to back country music superstar Faith Hill on her tour in 2000. Their performance led to a plethora of opportunities and they went on to work with everyone from Will Smith, Usher, and Mary Mary to Don Henley, Justin Timberlake, and Sting. Their first official recording (Let Go, Let God) appeared on the soundtrack of Dreamwork Studio’s bible epic (Prince of Egypt) in 1998. Their second album Victory Live came out in 2006 and captured the passionate gospel performance in all its praise-worthy spirit-filled glory. The album's soul-stirring gospel sounds were bolstered by the biggest stars in gospel music; Mary Mary, Hezekiah Walker, Donnie McClurkin, Kim Burrell and Israel Houghton. In 2010 Tye released his first album without Greater Anointing (titled Fresh) and followed it up with his 2013 release, Greater Than. One of the album’s tracks (If He Did It Before... Same God) got Tye a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Song and he also won the Grammy for Best Gospel Album.
